Deu 29:18-19  Beware lest there be among you a man or woman or clan or tribe whose heart is turning away today from the LORD our God to go and serve the gods of those nations. Beware lest there be among you a root bearing poisonous and bitter fruit, one who, when he hears the words of this sworn covenantblesses himself in his heart, saying, ‘I shall be safe, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart.’ (Emphasis mine)

Antinomianism basically says that we can do whatever sin we want because all of our sins have been forgiven. This is a dangerous, false gospel. Heb 4:12  For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Emphasis mine)

Having thoughts and intentions of willfully sinning because of Christ’s atonement is presuming against God. Rom 2:4  Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? (Emphasis mine)

We all need biblical repentance. We can no longer walk in the stubbornness of our hearts, presuming against Gods kindness, forbearance, and patience towards us. Humility, repentance, and seeking God with our all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength puts us on the path of godliness and freedom.
